Specs

This particular G575 model comes with an AMD Fusion processor running at 1.6 GHz. With fusion, graphics comes built in, so you can expect good performance with light games.

When it comes to connectivity, it has the usual connectors like an RJ45 if you need wired internet, a VGA so that you can hook it up to an external monitor, and 3 USB 2.0 ports. Overall, there is nothing spectacular about the hardware, but it isn’t bad at all.

Build quality

The G575 feels really good in your hands, as you always expect from a Lenovo notebook. It has a gray finish to it and it looks like it means business. The ports are all conveniently located. The hinges feel good enough to last for years. Lenovo notebooks have always been very reliable and this model only reinforces that feeling. This is definitely not one of your designer notebooks.

Screen

The screen at 15.6 inches is what you expect from a standard laptop. The screen is bright and the built in graphics processor makes it work very well. The color properties of this model are not as good as those of high end models. If you intend to do video editing, this is not the notebook you will buy. However, it is great for general browsing, and casual videos and games, which is what you expect from it.

Performance

Given the fairly lower midrange processor that is Fusion, the G575 has decent performance for basic tasks such as working with Microsoft office and web browsing.

It also does fairly well with Photoshop. It does feel snappy, at least in the beginning. We would have liked a bit more power for other tasks, but for the price, you really can’t complain.
